Common problems and solutions during slow wire running

During the operation of the Wire Electrical-Discharge Machine, some problems are inevitable. Below are some common questions to answer:

Broken silk

 

1 Poor discharge state

Solution: Reduce the P value, this operation will reduce the processing efficiency

2 The upper and lower spray nozzles cannot be veneer processed

Solution: Reduce the P value and check if the upper and lower spray nozzles are damaged. If damaged, please replace them in a timely manner

3 The conductive block is severely worn or too dirty

Solution: Clean, rotate or replace the conductive block

4 The wire guide is too dirty, causing scraping

Solution: Clean the wire guide components

5 The machine tension is too high

Solution: During taper cutting, reduce the wire tension appropriately

6 Quality issues with electrode wires and workpiece materials

Solution: Replace the electrode wire; Reduce the P and I values until continuous threading occurs

7 The waste silk in the waste silk bucket overflows and comes into contact with the machine tool or the ground, causing a short circuit

Treatment method: Put the spilled waste silk back into the waste silk bucket and clean the waste silk bucket in a timely manner

8 Broken wire at the wire receiving wheel

Solution: Check the compression ratio of the wire receiving wheel and check the lower guide wheel bearing

 

There are silk marks on the surface

 

1 Deformation of workpiece material or impurities inside

Solution: Reasonably arrange the process or replace the materials

2 The wire guide is too dirty and the conductive block is severely worn

Solution: Timely maintenance and upkeep of the machine tool is required

3 Poor flushing status

Solution: Check the upper and lower spray nozzles. If there is any damage, even replace them with new ones

4 Insufficient cooling water for conductive blocks

Solution: Clean the cooling water circuit

5 Uneven silk transportation and large shaking of the balance wheel

Processing method: Correct wire speed and tension

6 Trimming short circuit rollback

Solution: Adjust and increase UHP

7 There is vibration near the machine tool

Solution: Improve the external environment of the machine tool

8 Excessive liquid temperature or large temperature difference at room temperature

Solution: Use a refrigerator to control the liquid temperature and ensure room temperature

 

Low processing efficiency

 

1 No veneer processing, reduced P and I values

Processing method: Adjust the Z-axis and try to process it as closely as possible

2 Workpiece deformation, unable to be repaired by cutting or moving

Solution: Reasonably arrange the process to reduce material deformation

3 Multiple corners, using corner strategy

Solution: Reduce the corner strategy appropriately

4 Mold repair, main cutting without speed limit, slow repair speed

Solution: When repairing the mold, set a reasonable speed limit for the main cutting to avoid too fast speed and insufficient cutting allowance

5 The main cutting efficiency has decreased compared to before

Solution: Timely maintenance and upkeep of the machine tool
